Field Recording Working Group, a field recording/ sound design collective based in Oakland, CA. We just released ‘Microblocks, vol. 2,’ a free sample-pack culled from our field recordings of anti-police brutality protests in the East Bay at the end of 2014.
The sounds range from percussive noise (windows being smashed, dumpsters rolling, clapping) to ambient and atmospheric (chants, sirens). The recordings were mixed and mastered with the intention of creating heavy kicks, full snares and trippy hi-hats that beat makers could re-sample and use in their own electronic drum kits. All recordings are free, 24 bit, WAV and mono. 196 high-fidelity samples of percussive noise, chants, and ambiance culled from field recordings of street demonstrations against racist police brutality in Oakland and Berkeley.
